Georgetown County United Way

If you missed the inaugural Bridge 2Bridge Half Marathon & 5K Run held on October 1st, you missed a fun, challenging but scenic event! Runners local and far enjoyed the treasures of Georgetown and deemed the event a big success. Many stated they would return next year. Volunteers cheered them on, provided water and Gatorade and some even determined that they would run next year. Proceeds of this run will benefit three charities: the Georgetown County United Way and its Health Initiative; the Georgetown Business Association and their quest to draw attention and traffic to the City of Georgetown, particularly downtown Georgetown; and the alumni Iota Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, who will offer college scholarships to deserving local high school seniors.
